Six Points you need to know before buying a safe

1. What kind of valuables you want to store?

     If you want to store gold&sliver, documents, papers, home safes or burglary safes are your best choice.

     If you want to store guns, there are specific gun safes(including fireproof gun safes and non-fireproof gun cabinets), which are quite suitable for long guns/rifles.

     If you want to store cash like coins, bills or checks, cash boxes are good choice.

     If you want to store ammunition, plastic or metal ammo boxes are designed for this requirement.

     If you want to store keys, there are key storage box or key box for you to choose.

     If you want to purchase safes for hotel rooms, there are specific hotel rooms with guest codes&master codes.

2. Consider the capacity of safes to fit your valuables?

     When choose the safes, please pay much attention to the capacity, it is an essential factor, sellers always remark it using L or CUFT, or how many short gun/ rifles capacity of the safe.

3. Where you want to store your safes?

4. How you want to open the safes?

    There are mainly three ways to open the safes.

A. Key lock, you will get 2pcs keys to open the safe, generally safes with keys are a little cheaper than other locks.

B. Electronic lock, 3-8 digits are needed to open the safe, in this way, you don’t need to keep the keys---however, you still need to take good care of emergency keys.

C. Fingerprint lock, no need of keys or electronic codes, use your fingers are OK to open the safes. Generally safes with fingerprint lock is much more expensive than other locks. 

5. The special certificate of one safe?

    If you are located in CA,USA, and want to purchase a gun safe or gun lock, please pay attention that if the selling mark the safes is DOJ certificated.

    If you are located in Europe, CE certificate is essential.

6. What kind of security levels you want to get?

    Different safes are with various levels of security. For example, TL safes security level is higher than non TL safes, in anti-theft, in thickness of steel, for another example, if you want to choose fireproof safes, UL certificated safes are higher level than non-UL certificated safes.
